Commissioned Artworks

What Is a Commissioned Artwork?

A commissioned artwork is a one-of-a-kind painting created specifically for you. Instead of choosing an existing piece, you work directly with Lona, who paints from your photos and visual references to turn a meaningful place, animal, or moment into a personal work of art.

Each commission is hand-painted from start to finish, thoughtfully designed to reflect your vision and story. Because every piece is created from scratch, no two commissions are ever the same.

A custom commission is more than décor — it’s a lasting keepsake, a meaningful gift, and a piece of art that exists nowhere else.

High-quality photos and clear visual references help ensure the best possible result.

How It Works

Commission pricing is based on subject matter, size, and overall complexity. Simple landscape commissions begin at $3.50 per square inch, while animal, wildlife, and pet portrait commissions are priced at $4.00 per square inch. Portraits of people and highly detailed or complex scenes start at $4.25 per square inch. Because Lona paints from photos and visual references, high-quality images are essential to achieving the best possible result. Throughout the process, Lona works closely with each client to review details, composition, and overall feel, ensuring the finished piece reflects both the reference material and the vision behind it. Every commission is a collaborative experience, thoughtfully created from start to finish.
